Improving olive oil quality in Latin America
Through a four year project financed by the CFC, the “Cooperativa Olivicola Los 12 Olivos” established a cost-effective and environmentally sustainable production of high-quality olive oil suitable for the national and international market from the region of Catamarca, Argentina. About 16,000 litres of extra virgin olive oil were produced and marketed under the Brand “Olivares del Valle”. The distributor’s main clients are specialized boutiques and high end restaurants nationwide.

Mr. Raúl Alfredo Lopez, President of “Cooperativa Olivicola Los 12 Olivos”, Catamarca, Argentina, met Mr. Parvindar Singh, Managing Director a.i., on 22 September 2015 to thank the Common Fund for the technical and financial support extended for setting up a fully integrated olive oil processing plant for the farmers in the Catamarca province.
