Explore the potential of export diversification at our Africa Dialogue Series 2023 webinar
The Africa Dialogue Series (ADS) brings together experts, policymakers and UN entities to discuss how to continue unlocking the continent’s potential. As part of this year’s event which runs from 1-19 May, we’re jointly leading one of the key sub themes about export diversification.
This includes hosting a webinar on Wednesday 3 May at 3pm CET that will take a closer look at how to boost trade and export diversification, enabling us to share our expertise in helping smallholder farmers access higher value markets. If you’d like to join us register on Zoom here.
The overall theme for ADS 2023 is Market and Scale: Unlocking Industrialization through Intra-African trade. The three-week series of events is being run by the United Nations Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (UNOSAA) and the African Union Permanent Observer Mission to the United Nations (AUPOM) and will focus on the following three sub themes:
1. Boosting trade facilitation and rethinking the foundations of Africa’s export diversification from 1 to 5 May.
Led by UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Common Fund for Commodities (CFC), and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat
2. Growing middle class and continental import substitution: connecting the dots to unlock Made in Africa from 8 to 12 May.
Led by UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat
3. Digital Service Trade: great potential but regulatory frameworks are urgent from 15 to 19 May.
Led by UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat
We’re excited to be contributing to this important conversation and looking forward to sharing our knowledge and advocating for supply chains that grow the prosperity of smallholder farmers.
