Chairperson of the Governing Council Mr. Alejandro Mitri paid farewell call on Managing Director
Mr. Alejandro Mitri, Chairperson of the Governing Council of the Common Fund for Commodities (CFC), made a farewell call on Managing Director Ambassador Sheikh Mohammed Belal at the latter’s office today (20 July 2020). Mr. Mitri, upon completion of his tenure with the Embassy of Argentina, The Hague, is now heading back home.
Mr. Mitri expressed his satisfaction at the state of affairs of CFC and hoped that it will continue to have greater impact for the marginal people in the commodity producing developing countries. Ambassador Belal also thanked Mr. Mitri for his professional services to the CFC and hoped that he will find a way to remain supportive to the affairs of CFC wherever he is. Ambassador Belal also updated him about the special initiatives that the CFC have been engaged with, ever since, to mitigate the effect of COVID-19 among some of CFC’s clients in the developing world.
Before his departure, Mr. Mitri, ceremonially released the first copy of CFC’s annual report for the year 2019 along with Ambassador Sheikh Mohammed Belal.
