CFC participates in UNCTAD’s Eighth Global Commodities Forum and the Multi-Year Expert Meeting on Commodities and Development in Geneva

23 - 24 April 2018, Geneva. A CFC delegation participated in the Eighth Global Commodities Forum that took place in Geneva, Switzerland, from 23 to 24 April 2018. The Forum, entitled “Building skills for sustainable development”, engaged experts in dialogues on roles that skill development plays in the commodities sector in moving up the value chain, contributing to industrial development (Sustainable Development Goal 9) and providing decent work (Goal 8) and professional education (Goal 4).

25 – 26 April 2018. The CFC delegation attended the tenth session of the UNCTAD Multi-year Expert Meeting on Commodities and Development held back-to-back with the Forum from 25 to 26 April 2018. The meeting discussed commodity markets and assessed the trade and development implications of commodity dependence for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, giving due attention to sectors relevant to commodity-dependent developing countries.
