CFC co-organizing side event at 2018 Financing for Development Forum
25 April 2018, New York. In the margins of the 2018 Financing for Development Forum (FfD Forum) convened by the President of ECOSOC from 23 to 26 April 2018 at the UN Headquarters in New York, a side event, entitled “Unlocking the potential of the Small and Medium Sized Enterprises(SMEs) to accelerate structural economic transformation in the LLDCs and the achievement of the SDGs”, took place on 25 April 2018.
The side event was jointly organised by UN-OHRLLS, Paraguay (Chair of the LLDCs), UNCTAD, International Trade Centre (ITC), International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and CFC. Mr. Andrey Kuleshov, Strategy and Development Advisor of CFC, participated as speaker at the event. The intervention by the CFC focussed on the measure of support for the Landlocked and Least Developed Countries (LLDCs), which experience development challenges as the result of their commodity dependence. The CFC called for greater engagement with the impact investing industry by supporting entrepreneurs in LLDCs in creating new project investment opportunities.
