Ambassador of Sudan visits CFC
H.E. Mr. Kamal Bashir Ahmed, Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to the Netherlands, is seen with Managing Director Ambassador Sheikh Mohammed Belal at the Secretariat of the CFC. H.E. Mr. Kamal Bashir Ahmed came to the CFC for a farewell visit before leaving the Netherlands.
Ambassador Belal was accompanied by Ms. Alessandra Marocco, Portfolio Manager.
Ambassador Ahmed was duly briefed about the ongoing reforms that CFC is undergoing in order to serve the member states better in the days to come. Ambassador Belal elaborated on the elements, what he termed as green recovery in a post pandemic era, to help COVID-19 wrecked small holder and SMEs to get to their feet at the earliest. Ambassador Belal reiterated CFC’s invitation to Sudan, a very important member state in the African subcontinent, to continue their untiring support for the CFC.
Ambassador Ahmed conveyed his country’s gratitude to CFC for what he termed as, very proactive approach towards benefiting the marginal people in his country. Ambassador Ahmed assured CFC that he will continue to support CFC’s good work even his return from The Hague.
Ambassador Belal, taking cue from COVID-19 lessons, highlighted the importance of capacity building initiatives beyond business case of CFC’s usual projects.
With regard to the ongoing call for proposals by CFC, Ambassador Belal urged Ambassador Ahmed to disseminate the information so that qualified SMEs/enterprises could submit quality projects from Sudan for consideration by the Executive Board of CFC.
Ambassador Belal assured to pursue more innovative outreach in the days to come in order to make the services of CFC available to the affected communities across the world.
