Just Know your Coffee Cup (JKCC), Uganda

JKCC General Supplies Limited, established in 2017 in Uganda, is a green coffee trader and processor committed to improving traceability and supporting smallholder farmers. The company strengthens the coffee sector by providing technical assistance, facilitating access to credit, and promoting fair sourcing practices that reduce dependence on exploitative intermediaries. JKCC exports graded Arabica and Robusta coffee to international markets, particularly in the EU and North America. Through its business-to-business (B2B) model, the company procures green coffee directly from farmers, outsources processing activities, and is developing its own processing facility to enhance operational efficiency and quality control. Since its inception, JKCC has rapidly expanded its farmer network, initially engaging over 300 smallholders and supporting the formation of the Consortium of Central and Western Farmers Association (COCEWEFA), which now represents more than 7,000 farmers. All export coffee is sourced through this cooperative under a formal agreement that ensures reliable supply, traceability, and quality standards. Building on the strong performance of a fully utilized USD 1 million trade finance facility provided by the CFC, JKCC received an additional USD 1 million trade finance loan in 2025, increasing the total facility to USD 2 million to support working capital needs and growing export volumes.
