CFC and Peru exchange insights to strengthen commodity sector partnerships

01 July 2025, Amsterdam – At the request of H.E. Ms. Franca Lorella Deza Ferreccio, Ambassador of Peru to the Netherlands, the Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) hosted a virtual webinar on 01 July 2025 for Peruvian businesses, government officials, and embassy representatives. The session underscored CFC’s longstanding commitment to supporting member states in maximizing the potential of their commodities through tailored financing and expertise.

Ambassador Deza, accompanied by Mr. Carlos Diaz, International Cooperation, Innovation and Cultural Attaché at the Embassy, representatives from Peru’s Ministry of Agriculture, and key stakeholders, engaged in the discussion. On behalf of CFC, Mr. Ernesto Daza Lacouture, Impact Investment Manager, outlined the organization’s financing opportunities, emphasizing its readiness to collaborate with Peru in unlocking sustainable value from its commodity sector.

The webinar highlighted CFC’s latest Call for Proposals, showcased past investment successes, and provided an operational overview of the Fund. Discussions reinforced a shared vision for deeper collaboration and knowledge exchange to drive sustainable commodity-based development.

In her opening remarks, Ambassador Deza applauded CFC’s efforts in poverty reduction through SME support and highlighted Peru’s enthusiasm for sharing its own best practices in harnessing commodities for socio-economic progress.

Mr. Daza delivered a detailed presentation on the CFC’s funding mechanisms, followed by an interactive Q&A session. Participants were also invited to a follow-up webinar on 02 September 2025, offering further guidance on application procedures.

The dialogue reaffirmed the strong partnership between CFC and Peru, with both parties eager to advance mutual learning and investment in sustainable commodity solutions. As always, CFC remains keen to assist member states in transforming their commodities into engines of inclusive growth.
