Ambassador of Burkina Faso pays CFC farewell visit virtually
H.E. Ms. Jacqueline Marie Zaba/Nikiema, Ambassador of Burkina Faso to the Benelux, Ireland and Great Britain and Northern Ireland, visited CFC virtually to say goodbye as she is leaving Belgium shortly upon completion of her tour of duties. As the Governor of the CFC for Burkina Faso, Ambassador Zaba/Nikiema stated that Burkina Faso takes the CFC with utmost importance. She also stated that Burkina Faso expressed her readiness to do more for its people as well as for all poor people in the region.
Ambassador Zaba/Nikiema was accompanied by Ambassador Oumarou Ganou (Deputy) and Mr. Souleymane Nabole (Economic Counsellor), while Ambassador Belal was assisted by Mr. Hector Besong, Portfolio and Risk Manager.
Following the exchange of usual greetings and pleasantries, Ambassador Belal briefly informed H.E. Ms. Jacqueline Marie Zaba/Nikiema of the current and probable future initiatives of the CFC. Ambassador Belal requested Ambassador Zaba/Nikiema to help the CFC with their success stories and thereby help the CFC improve the format and character of CFC projects. Amb. Belal also requested Amb. Zaba/Nikiema to introduce the CFC to potential stakeholders so that the CFC could scale up its work globally. Ambassador Belal wished to see more working relations and partnerships with Burkina Faso in the days to come.
The meeting further touched upon the creation of the CIIF (Commodities Impact Investment Facility) which has been approved by the CFC Governing Council in December 2021 and is expected to enable the CFC to contribute more to poverty alleviation. The CFC would welcome recommendations to the relevant impact investors in Burkina Faso and beyond, when the CIIF has been established.
The meeting was concluded with the mutual resolve of remaining engaged and doing the necessary follow-up in the days to come.
