Under the project, a symposium was organized to bring together researchers from institutions involved in research on jute, kenaf and allied fibres, as well as key market players and policy makers. They had an interactive exchange on drivers for jute research and to explore how international collaboration can contribute to research and development activities being undertaken with more cohesion and impact. The seminar took place in Dhaka (8 & 9 June 2011). A brief write-up on the seminar has been prepared by the IJSG. A full report has been made available by IJSG containing the presentations, a summary of discussions and as well as conclusions drawn at the end of the symposium. The report can be accessed through this link.
